Our Visit to the Age UK General Meeting

On Monday, 27th January, we had the pleasure of attending the Age UK Bury Annual General Meeting, hosted at The Jubilee Centre. Nestled in the stunning surroundings of Clarence Park Lido, the venue provided a welcoming and serene setting for an afternoon of insightful discussions and community spirit. The Jubilee Centre also features a charming cafe, ideal for a relaxing stop after a stroll around the lido.

It was truly inspiring to hear everyone’s thoughts and opinions on the incredible work being done to support older people in our community. The meeting fostered a genuine sense of togetherness, highlighting the dedication and passion of those involved. From volunteers to staff members and attendees, each voice contributed to a valuable dialogue on how we can continue making a positive impact.

A key theme of the meeting was the ongoing need for volunteers and donations, Chief Officer Ania expressed heartfelt gratitude for the incredible support they’ve received so far from local businesses in the community. Age UK relies on the generosity of individuals to continue their vital work, and there are many opportunities to get involved. Whether through donating time or resources, every contribution helps enhance the lives of older adults who rely on these essential services.

If you’re interested in volunteering or making a donation, we highly encourage you to reach out and support this wonderful cause. Together, we can make a difference and strengthen the sense of community that was so evident at this gathering.

A big thank you to Age UK for hosting such an engaging and meaningful event. We look forward to continuing to support their fantastic work!
