Building Stronger Futures: A Visit from MP James Frith

This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming MP James Frith to the Davenports offices for an inspiring and forward-thinking discussion on apprenticeships, skills development, and the future of work here in Bury.

A passionate advocate for education and youth opportunity, MP Frith spent time learning about how we support apprentices at Davenports—from recruitment and mentorship through to progression and retention. We were proud to share our journey and our ongoing commitment to nurturing the next generation of talent.

One of the highlights of the visit was discussing our proudest achievement of the year: being named the 2025 SME Employer of the Year at the Lancashire Apprenticeship Awards. This recognition is a true testament to the dedication of our entire team and the hard work of every apprentice who has contributed to our success.

The visit was filled with valuable conversations and a shared vision for how we can continue to grow Bury’s young workforce through meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.

At Davenports, we believe in building stronger futures—together.
